Why is it always "Christmas" in the UK but "Holiday" in the USA?

because in america it is more important to be politically correct about it because we have more people of diverse cultures that worship something else and because it is a holiday, it is not inappropriate to just say Holiday, but I prefer to keep Jesus Christ in it by saying, "Merry Christmas." To each His own on it.
