Can i put bupivacaine directly on my tooth?

I have a vial of bupivacaine and a severe toothache. Is it safe to put it directly onto the tooth using a cotton swab or something, or do i have to inject it? It says 0.5% (5mg/mL) pn the bottle, which is a 30 mL single dose.
